It just hit me that this is Sam. Pre-death, pre-ressurection, of himself and his brother. Pre-actual angels. All he had to worry about at this point was somehow "going darkside."

Dean has never accepted that the world comes in shades of gray, rather than black and white. You'd think with all of his experiences he'd be more... flexible.
