Because books.

I was just looking to put her in a fic, and the younger she is, the harder it is to figure out when she foxholed with everybody. Especially since I'm including Sir.

According to imbd she was born in '71 in real life, if that helps. Totally old enough. I guess I recognize her from a conglomeration of appearances. No one show jumped out. I like her.

I expect they'll end up "releasing" Bobby's ghost at some point, with his consent. Much the same way Bobby granted Annie's request.

Double the angst!! They can watch him "die" all over again. Even if it is, you know, a 'good' death this time.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I was thinking that if Show wanted Annie to be in her thirties, I could accept that in the face of her living a hard hard life that aged her beyond her years. And listening to how she talked to Bobby, I could almost believe it. There's the trauma of whatever sent her into the life, and then having no real connections with anyone, just fleeting heated moments with willing bodies. She's Dean, without Sam and Bobby and Cas and Jo and Ellen. For all that she's been intimate, she hasn't been a part of anyone else's life in a significant way (and narratively why we haven't heard of her until now).

Man, I liked her.

Show seems to do really awesome with mature women.

I don't think there's any way to know that. We know she's unattached right now, and has been in the past few years, but I don't think we can assume she's more like Dean than Sam or anyone without more backstory. I think she was just a one-off, though. But I really liked her, too.

It was her comment to Bobby about how he had the boys that led me to think that, despite her involvement in the hunting community, and being willing to bed down with willing partners, that she didn't have any sort of stable homebase of people.

But Dean's willing to bed down with whoever, and (most of the time) he has/had Sam and/or Bobby and/or his dad, etc. I just don't think you can assume too much about a character with so little to go on. I'd love to know more of her story, though (same with all of the hunters we've met, really).

Oh, hell yes. I can easily imagine her and Ellen having worked on a case together, and kicking ass.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I think you need to write that, Anne!

And of course Ellen fell into a foxhole with Annie, natch.
