I think Dean suspects that, and I think he and Sam both genuinely wanted a happy ending for Bobby -- heaven, whatever that is for him, and some peace.

IIRC, way back in S2, Tessa warned Dean that people sticking around after they die is one way vengeful spirits come into being, so he should know it outright.

Eta: Oh wait, Dean didn't remember that meeting with Tessa, did he?

imdb says she's a few weeks shy of 41, if that helps. i thought she looked older than her 30s too.
