The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

What Amy said.

BOBBY! I expected him to show up soon, since it was obvous he was around in the last ep. I didn't expect them to make it hurt so much, after a mostly fun show.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Oh, Jesus, I can't believe they did that. Like, to me, because I'm taking this personally.

But first I have to get this off my chest: RANDOM JAPANESE PERSON???? SERIOUSLY??? THAT FIXED YOUR ISSUE?

No, it didn't. It was Bobby, because of the Japanese connection. I'm holding firmly to that.

Okay, I know I'm on record saying I didn't want Jim Beaver back, because let's just be done with all that, but they got me. I got sad, again. Real sad. I was hoping not to have my heart broken two weeks in a row (oh, thank you Community, by the way, for not helping), but FUCK YOU.

I also love how stingy they've been with spoilers, like how Misha had been talking about coming back forever, but I didn't stumble onto any Jim Beaver news in my general meanderings about the shallow end of the spoiler pool.

They kept me sad about Cas, about Sam feeling he'd traded the crazy, about him obsessing over Bobby and keeping it from his brother, about Dean cataloging the feels and trying adamantly to ignore them, about him finally opening his mouth, about dead Bob's heartbreak at being invisible...

They got me. Although I did also laugh a lot (and my drunk!Dean fanon is pretty much untouched, and he's still a walking substance abuse problem, so I'm happy), I'm sad.

Completely unrelatedly, anyone else read scaramouche's totally fucked up D/C that she just posted? I love that she's unrelenting schmoop with the HS AU, but that stuff she posted this morning was MESSED up man. Thankfully it didn't set off my slavery issues, because I really enjoyed the complete psychotically messed up dynamics. And to fit awesome!Sam into that...

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Have not read it yet, but now that I know she's posted it will become a project for me this weekend.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's not for everyone, even if you ship it, because they're completely crazy, but I found it compelling.

So...Bobby. Haunting the flask? What?

I am pretty sure we've had canon where someone stuck around despite their body having been destroyed, right? For some reason I feel convinced of that, without being able to provide a cite. Garth did pony up some immediate exceptions, but I feel sure that we've seen something like it. Does the Hookman count, for instance? He was just around for the silver, right?

Amy - Mar 31, 2012 6:47:18 am PDT #24762 of 30002
Because books.

The Hookman, and also the psycho little girl from the painting. Her DNA/remains/whatever were in her doll (made with some of her hair). Oh, and also the kid from After School Special, whose dad had ... something of his in his Bible. (I think it was a bible, anyway.)

I'm a little worried that next week is a misdirect, in terms of the preview, but I'm also a little confused about why Bobby can shove a sword and empty a beer and all that, and couldn't respond to Sam with the talking board. I'm also a little wary of ghost!Bobby having the magic answer to defeating the Leviathans, because that's just going to feel like cheating.

That said, I love love love love that he can't let go, that he misses them and is worried about them, and he's holding on so hard, and helping out wherever he can. BOBBY.

Oh, and yes, I think it's definitely tied to the flask.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm also a little confused about why Bobby can shove a sword and empty a beer and all that, and couldn't respond to Sam with the talking board.

Because Sam didn't have the flask? Dean's always had it, and the beer and sword and book, etc. all happened to Dean.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

But the painting girl and the boy from After School Special had hair that needed to be destroyed. The Hookman wasn't a part of his body. So I'm figuring the boys actually did the impossible and trashed all the Bobby DNA, we have at least one...two! Molly was cremated, wasn't she, and held on purely out of love in Roadkill?

Okay, Bobby could be either of those--attached to the flask like Hook, or just love like Molly.

I wish they'd referred to either of those cases instead of having Garth reel off examples that were new to us.

Kneel before Glod. ~Stephen Colbert

Anyone notice that the preview's date said April 20th? I am PISSED.

Oh, and a very loud Bobby squee from me! I've missed him so much. Isn't it just like Show to be so much fun, then sucker punch you with a heartbreak at the end.

Damn you, Sera Gamble.

Amy - Mar 31, 2012 7:11:17 am PDT #24766 of 30002
Because books.

Because Sam didn't have the flask?

Good point! But then why couldn't he answer when Dean asked him to, at least with a physical sign?

I was sort of assuming some kind of DNA was in the flask, even if it was just ... really old backwash inside it? Alcohol can't kill DNA, right? Or ... isn't the casing sort of leathery? He could have bled on it at some point.
