I am not...I am not the damsel in distress. I am not some case. I have to work this. I've lived in a cave for 5 years in a world where they killed my kind like cattle. I am not going to be cut down by some monster flu. I am better than that. What a wonder...how very scared I am.

Mark was pretty gaunt back when he was first playing Nick, so maybe it's just a comparative thing?

The timestamp confused me until I remembered the full year gap that occurred between Seasons 5 and 6. So they were in the Season 4 fight against the opening of the seals, not the Season 3 hunt for Lilith to get Dean's contract nullified.

One thing I do not get is why Jeffrey was helpful to them four years ago if he was already BFF with the demon that was possessing him. What motivation would he have had to sign off on the torture if he wanted the demon to stick around?

Because books.

I have to watch again -- it did get a little extra twisty there at the end.

Lucifer's "pudge".

I first read that as Lucifer's "bulge" which I gave another interpretation.

The Demon and he both agreed on saying yes so he would survive. Otherwise the torture would have happened anyway. And while I doubt Dean and Sam would have offed him after for saying no, the Demon and maybe Jeffrey as well might have taken it for granted that they would.

What I was questioning was the scene in the present where the demon, in the witch's son's body, got caught by the Devil's Trap (or whichever) sigil on the ceiling. Geoffrey assumed that he and the demon were best buds, and he was working really hard to bring the demon back so that he could house him again. Why would he think he'd need the Devil's Trap?

Kneel before Glod. ~Stephen Colbert

I thought Sam or the wiccan's mother had taken the time to do that before jumping the demon.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Yeah, I totally thought it was the witch there.

I really liked that we got fairly fleshed out guest characters for Sam & Dean to interact with this week. Season 7 has been considerably better about that than the last couple of seasons have.

I will need to rewatch. Because I thought that Dean and Geoffrey were there the whole time, and that Sam wouldn't have had any time to have laid (lain?) any traps.

Did he have the scholar's kid holed up in the same place the Winchesters exorcised him four years ago? If so, there might have been a Devil's trap already handy there from when they had the demon contained previously.

Dean and Jeffrey were there the whole time. I thought Sam or the witch had painted it somewhere not the main room. Like, another room, or around a corner.
