You're missing the opinion that I have, that it's just one more canon name, of which they have plenty. 90% of the names are canon, and there's a decided cant towards the idea of pen names. It seems perfectly cromulent to me, FWIW.
It's juvenile in canon, and I have to live with that, but within the fic, with the limited inclusion of canon elements, and the tone of the fic, to defend it's inclusion as canon is whack, to me. I smirked at Ash's last name, but . . . this entire conversation is ridiculous.

I get that a fic including pieces of canon you don't like means it's not to your taste (seriously, could Dean waggle his eyebrows about sex a little less?), but indefensible? Huh? It's the show. Like it or leave, it's the show.

ita, as for being insulting, I apologize. I just realized mid-sentence that we were discussing the use of the name I.P. Freeley, and it seemed silly that we (I) were up in arms about it. It wasn't an attack on you. More on my own hangup on something so inconsequential. In any case, I absolutely bow out.
