Dean Winchester, Straight Shooter. It brought happiness. And...something.
I've seen teen hustler Dean both with canon Cas timetravelling, and therefore not really within AU, and some older businessman/younger Dean, but I'd be damned if I could track it down now.
And I do remember a pretty angsty one where Cas is in a crime family and Dean is one of their hookers. But I'm so out of the habit of bookmarking these days.
And something, huh? I can imagine.
The hustler!Dean that broke me was the one with John, where they didn't know who they were to each other -- Dean had been
given up to the system after Mary and Sam, too, died in the fire
.
Absolutely perfect and heartbreaking and of course squirmy because they have no idea. Not a fic for everyone, obviously. What I loved was John introducing Dean to the life of a hunter, and taking care of him in his own way.
I skimmed that one, because I wanted to know, but I didn't want to feel.
I sobbed at the end, so.
I should not be reading this fic right now. And yet.
It's kind of...distracting.
Amy, I read the hustler fic as a WIP--do you have a link for the finished fic?
A WIP? I remember it being really short. But I don't think I have the bookmark anymore. Plei might.
His heart fell into his pelvis adding its fleshy fodder to fuel the flames stoking hot in lower places.
I just had to share the purple prose.
I think I remember that Dean/John fic. It was a shorty. And barely bearable for me, which is saying a lot because Dean/John is intolerable to me.
Which makes me then think about the next new ep, whenever it may air. Because my second thought was "is she legal, and if she hadn't stated who she was, how close would Dean be to banging her?" My first thought was "do not want!".
Really, we finally get to see Dean back in the saddle, and his sex life has to be a plot point?
Then I wonder if Dean (and Sam) have been as celibate as Show shows us (proof in the lack of evidence).
I figure they'll tell us if Dean's crippling depression has also been keeping him out of the sack. It's what I've been assuming, that between what they've both got going on upstairs, they're not in the mood for anything more complicated that self-stimulation.
Dean has not yet been shown drowning his sorrows in bootie, so I'm interested to see what sort of interaction he has with this woman that gets him into bed.

In this fandom, it's always going to be a plot point one way or the other.
I think we would have seen if Dean or Sam had been interested in sex, and between grief and Leviathans and brotherly conflict and more grief, I don't think either of them have been. It doesn't surprise me that Dean getting his sexy on again comes after the speech from Frank, though. If you're going to keep on keeping on, with a smile on your face, Dean probably assumes it's best to go all out and do it right.
