Most of these things would be a lot easier to stake/stab/decapitate if they had to worry about a couple of shot-out kneecaps or some hollowpoints rattling around in their skulls.
Unless they did what demons do and just keep coming at you. They seem to take dramatically less damage unless you hit them with their weakness.
Also, if Sam and Dean took out every demon efficiently, there would be a lot less action on the show.

Mary was burned to death, so not technically cremated and definitely not salted. And she was a ghost.
Do we know how burnt she was, though? I mean, she died in a fire, but that doesn't have to be as thorough as the destruction of a salt and burn or a cremation.
Ghosts go ka-whoosh pretty quickly into the salt-and-burns, but perhaps that's more due to the ritual purification combo of salt and fire than the actual degree of damage to the corpse.
We don't know (although it's reasonable to assume) that Mary's body suffered extensive burns. Is there anything in grey canon that tells us? Is the assumption that she was sufficiently burnt they couldn't tell she'd been sliced open? And how much does that take?
YES! I felt like a bad fan for holding out, but I wanted Blu Ray at DVD prices, and yes!

Seems ghosts can impact the this plane of existence physically. Bobby may or may not have drank the beer, but he sure made it disappear. He's dead, but he's still here, and he took Dean's beer.
If I can't have Bobby alive, I'll take his drunken ghostly ass. :-)
