Because books.

Well, sure. But it was an easier way to misdirect the audience (and Dean and Sam) into thinking the CEO was the one making the deal.

I get what you're saying, but it just didn't leap out at me.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I can't wait to live vicariously through y'all's scav hunting!

I still haven't seen last Fridays ep. I just can't be arsed to cough up the two bucks to buy it off iTunes. And I'm going to miss this Fridays. Phooey. So my new plan is to catch last weeks on Hulu while I attempt to make 36 bows for Christmas (I'm sorry, the "holiday") wreaths to give to our top donors (yet they force me to make something different for those of the Jewish persuasion -hallelejiah we now have a resident Jew to put a stop to that nonsense) at work. I know you cared. I do not like not watching real-time, let alone a week off. Sad face.

I'm currently reading a fic I found somewhat randomly (following the link of an author when I mistakenly suspected a fic had been plaigiarized (turns out it was a *very* specific prompt taken on by two people). I came upon a rec for THE MOST AWESOME DC FIC EVAR! and had to check it out. It was written after the season 4 finale, and as such, has a very srs bzns BAMF Cas that doesn't even touch on the awkward doofy shenanigans that followed in season five. There's some wild plot holes that have to be handwaved to make the plot work, but, the writing is great, the whump is spectacular (even if it seems to be forgotton, but at least it's wallowed in indulgently for the scene it's a part of (kind of like Show in that respect). And for an old fic, it's actually refreshing how Dean's attraction to Cas is dealt with (or maybe BECAUSE it's an old fic, before fandom created it's own tropes to be copied by writers more invested in and inspired by fic than in Show).

Downside: hostile Sam (but I think I've been trained by fic to expect and want Awesome!Matchmaking!Sam.) I can't remember Sam's attitude towards Cas in season 4, other than the awe at first meeting.

Oh yeah, fic name, for those who care: "The Propensities of Good Men" by thevinegarworks. And it's LOOOOONG.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I've read all of thevinegarworks stuff, but I don't remember that one precisely. I am exhausted by hostile Sam, though. I just...no. He doesn't have to matchmake, but he does have to be a decent brother.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Shoot, I'm behind in watching, so I missed Perkins' post. I'm in, if you haven't already signed us up.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Oddly, this is my first time stumbling upon vinegarworks.

It's like he took season four HostileowardsCas!Dean and transplanted that onto Sam. Tell me I'm wrong, but it was Sam egging Dean on that angels were real and awesome. Mostly being shifty about Ruby, since Show didn't give Sam and the angels much screentime.

There's a lot wonky with it, mostly Sam stuff, but there's no a lo of that. And I'm just so relieved that the wonky shit is wonky in different ways than 95% of the fic out there. The writer doesn't *hate* Sam. I'm silently rewriting portions of it. But there's whump and plot and Cas being BAMF and Dean being a stable (in a not even trying to deal way) with the gay thing, with just the right amount of hesitation and a whole lot of great "I dig this weird not-human guy and find how powerful he/it is to be terribly hot".

Not too late, Debtesse! Can you send me your address though--I was planning finishing it off tonight.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I've yet to watch more than the premiere of this season so I'm skimmy skippity skipper, but thought I'd post to say that if a UK scavenger type person is needed, I'm entirely up for it!
