I think some of the photo collaging/manipping with different color overlays and shadowing is really pretty, but ... it's just not what I expect out of fanart. I mean, the PR department at the network could do it, you know?
I don't know why, but I have no interest in writing a story based on a vid. I think because no matter what the images are all going to be something I've seen before, so.
And wow, do the really specific prompts put me off. Write your own story, if you're demanding that many details.
I'm not very good at fandom.
Mine were vague, right? I mean, I wanted the picture to be the prompt.

I just saw a D/C HS AU vid, and no...you hadn't seen most of the images before. I was pretty impressed. I think it was a lot of Dawson's Creek and I have no idea where the Misha stuff came from.

Le sigh. This was/is me. Whenever I feel the urge to give prompts, they're terribly specific. And I ended up starting two of them because on one, no one else was, and on the second, they took a D/C prompt and turned it into a D/G fic, which, wtf? And the third prompt (or the first, whichever) I ended up being co-plotter. (I'm hoping that this time next year I'll have a fic written and posted that will rival strangeandcharm's Thursday's Child. I aim high.)

Yours were perfect. But some were
way
too detailed.
I've got a mix of photomanip and traditional art on my short list.

Absolutely. And the second one was fantastic and wide open, which I LOVE.

Oh! Well, that's good. But you know me and (most) AUs anyway.
I'm still grumpy about the art on that one, but whatever! I really like the art on the first one, but I think it's a less interesting prompt.
I did see one description where the artist didn't specify who one of the characters was. I mean, she drew him, and you could see his face, but she said it was either Dean or Cas. I do aim to be less vague than that.
I have to wonder if some of the super-specific descriptions are sign of a pre-existing artist/writer arrangement.
SamandDean genfic that could be canon. COULD be.
