You know, I just... I woke up, and I looked in the mirror, and I thought, hey, what's with all the sin? I need to change. I'm... I'm dirty. I'm, I'm bad with the... sex and the envy and that, that loud music us kids listen to nowadays.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Julie, I know a number of conservatively religious couples who give that kind of vibe. From the (short) time I spent in a very conservative church, I recall a number of people who got married because marriage-and-kids was what you were supposed to do. If a couple was dating for more than a year and wasn't talking marriage, something was 'wrong.' So, I do think a number of couples got married because they found a partner who wasn't an obvious trainwreck, and they moved forward as expected.

Also, it was fairly obvious that in a lot of cases, the SEX IS DIRTY EVIL BAD message that kids raised in the church kept getting led to all kinds of repression and so on, even when a couple truly loved each other. And yes, I think a lot of people got married while in serious denial about their sexuality (because being gay is EXTRA DIRTY EVIL BAD).

In short, I think the hands-offness of the relationship fit very well with the kind of background they gave Jimmy.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I hate Colin.

Hey! The Mafia Soup Kitchen fic is finished! It's the end of an era.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Colin ate peanut butter with Misha, not fair!

The second I clicked on this thread, read about the Mafia Soup Kitchen, and clicked open a new tab to read it, the power went out again.

Drove to work to read (I have to water the greenhouse anyway).

Anne, thanks for that explanation, very interesting . . .

finished fic. Le sigh. So good.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I finally made it through my Season 6 backlog and this thread last night.

That was fun, but long.

There are an awful lot of confusing acronyms in fic.

That is all.

I don't know why there was a post from me saying "no". Not a clue. Maybe the guy at the cell phone store when he was fixing my browser?

S6 gag reel, for anyone who can't wait. Eleven+ minutes of goofy goodness, excellent quality.

Touch it. Touch it? Touch it.

Thanks, Amy! Nan had posted/linked to one that had a D/C overlay that made it hard to see.

I knew there was something that I forgot on my birthday list.

pizza:

Bobby cuss words? Bullcrap? Hogwash? Horsefeathers? I know Balls! but that's not appropriate for the situation.

Because books.

I think Bobby would default to something like "shit" other than "balls" in fic. If they could swear on the show, he'd probably say "shit".
