Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?

Gabriel's dark side I only really put in Kali's hands.

I haven't been actively looking for it, but now I hope there's lots of Gabriel/Kali floating around out there somewhere. You know, for science.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I was looking for Gabriel/Kali to come out of the Gabriel big bang--that's what I wanted to illustrate. I'm really happy with what I got, but initially I was disappointed that no one was doing that pairing. Hell, I still am. A whole bang, man.

Apparently the CW has extended the order for S7, so it's up to 23! I don't know what it was up to before.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

22 is standard, isn't it?

Because books.

I think so. An extra episode! Whoot. Makes up a little for S3.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I just hope they can bat more than .500 for me this time around. There are only about 11 episodes that I'm fond of from last season.

They'll have to pad a few more seasons to properly make up for S3. Get on it, boys!

I haven't put S6 on my spreadsheet yet. I need to do that. Whatever it bats, I'd rather have had it than not had it--I'm not one of the haters. I read the tumblrs of too many people that like a character (Castiel) more than they like the show, and it can get depressing. But they produce great fanworks, and I don't want to miss those. I wish there was a way to filter out the meta where they whine about how Castiel was ruined and how they're not going to watch next year unless Dean gives him a candy-coated lap dance apology (seriously, the D/C apology fic is so ham-handed in general, it makes me wince).

Another trend I don't like is the memory wipe fic. I know it fits thematically with what Dean did. I just think it's really sad--whether you wipe them all, or all but Dean. I don't want Cas to "win" like that. That's a horrorshow ending, and depresses me.

Wow. [link] BB art by smallworld inc. I could stare at that all day. (It's Sam & Dean, G)

I don't even know how someone could come up with a satisfactory "fix-it" fic or apology fic or any kind of "and this is how it gets better" without a novel-length BB fic. Anything less is just cheap and hollow. It's like almost all the fic last year that never really tackled the "getting Sam back from the Cage" to any satisfying degree, usually just brushing it off as an unknown mystery never to be solved, or just giving up on him altogether. I had really hoped to see some creativity come out of that conundrum, but can't recall anything that really tried to treat it as a serious main issue, and not just something that happily happens. Although I do love some of those. Just not as a go-to of original non-canon ways to get Sam out of Hell (f*** you, God!).

Because books.

Jensen's wife, Danneel Harris (Ackles now, I think), is in a sitcom that got ordered but then canned -- they're showing it starting tonight, just the thirteen or whatever episodes filmed. NBC, 8 to 9 p.m., if anyone's interested.
