Oh me too, with the fic! I keep a couple stories open in tabs and read when I have a few throughout the day, and not having it screws with my whole method.
I don't FB, though, or twit, so I'd not realized how I depend on my flist for gossip and news. LJ's totally out for me in Firefox, but I got to LJ and logged in with IE. But even then it wouldn't let me click through to anybody's posts, so unless news is right there on my flist page, I'm not much better off.

I had a tab already open for jani tangerine's The Apartment au and wasn't able to read part 2! It wasn't that bad considering Dean is the character who S tries to kill himself, Which is why I've put off reading it. But I was desperate

The Alchemy Powers!Dean fic was good. Avoided a lot of the wearying tropes that seem to bore me with a lot of fic, mostly by not dwelling on them and moving forward. there's something about fics that get so convoluted in their search for a better ending to season 5 that just weighs me down. The "let's make mention of everyone who was and who wasn't part of the Apocalypse!" syndrome. And, I don't know if it's because I haven't read them, but Good Omens crossovers and fusions are tiring. Like the SPN universe wasn't big enough or taxing enough, let's do a fusion with vaguely similar characters?
ION, I keep crossing paths with a Castiel who is the Last Unicorn. It breaks my heart. The Alchemy fic was the latest. "What have you done to me?" !!!
