I'm a single undead gal trying to make it in the big city. I have to start somewhere and they're evil here. They don't judge. They've got necro-tempered glass. No burning up. A great medical plan, and who needs dental more than us?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Why do you have a complaint about Cas' virgin status?

Not about the status of it, just that it was suddenly a known quantity within the fic, taken for granted that of course he is. No "so have you ever?" "No." "okay". Not a huge deal, but it felt like an oversight of givens.

I kinda think that as an amnesiac, you get a reset button. It's like the tree falling in the forest with no one there to hear.

Okay, I get that --but did Dean, at that point, know that Cas was an amnesiac?

I don't think he did. And I don't think the reader did either.

Huh. I thought we did.

Adorable painting of the Js. Though I prefer to think of it as Sam and Dean, because I'd love to see Sam with that smile on his face.

Hey, I was reading on my blackberry at traffic lights, something may have been missed. There was no way in heck I was deliberately skimming this time!

Okay, I'm a sap. I liked it, and I'm glad it ended the way I thought it was, even though the name change was jarring. I'm really really glad it ended with a world where they were hunters, because it was just awkward wrong otherwise, even if they preferred it so.

That was a great, satisfying ending, which not a lot of fics achieve (I'm still annoyed at the ending of Thursday's Child, with the cheetos, and that's my favorite longfic). I realized, just like in WIAWSNB, there's a boatload of people dying with Sam and Dean as nonhunters. And the subtle tonal shift of Dean 1 and Dean 2, Dean 2 was so much happier and content.

Hair of the dog: is it wrong that my beef with a fic is that there are fireflies when lilacs are blooming? Because three months so did not pass between the two. Fic, get your flora and fauna right!

I totally see why Sam didn't want his reality to change--but Dean was a bit aimless and very very normal in that life. It would have been nice to see Sam in the new reality. But at least we know Jess was still with him.

Fireflies are seasonal? I had no idea. I wonder if they're seasonal in Jamaica too.
