Did you guys see this yet? Apparently two people sat down and counted out all the deaths that occurred throughout all 6 seasons of SPN to prove whether or not there's really been a gender bias. In short, if it's really the place that Women Characters Go to Die. There are fancy pie charts and everything.
Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?
[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US on TV (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though — if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
PMM, so far my (not) massive number of art betas have gotten back to me with things like overdraws to show where my lines are wrong, alternate colour schemes, reference pictures, discussions of mood and contrast, etc.
I'm having a particularly dicey convo right now with someone I stan really hard, because it's a "how do I colour spare like you do?" and maybe I just can't, you know? Failing at that will be shameful. But it seems more my style than some of the more involved work I see.
I'm glad someone did that pie chart, because my attempt do do it with S3 floundered with Jus in Bello. But it was apparent that more guys were dying than women even at that point.
Major kudos to the pie chart makers.

Did the people also break it down by recurring survival rate? Or say, take a look at the framing of the deaths (sexualized vs non-sexualized, etc). Look, I love the show, but it does have some serious gender twitch factors, esp. in the later seasons. It's not just about raw numbers.
Yes, Plei. There's a whole explanation, and they analyzed the numbers a few different ways, including sexualization.
I looked at the comments and explanations, and they explicitly didn't do sexualization (see the comment thread with Sockkpuppet/Lum and the charters -- and I trust Lum's visual eye on this pretty much completely). There are some good critiques in the comments, actually, and areas suggested for futher explanation.
They talk about sexualization of some of the major female characters, though.
What's with all the knotting fic all of a sudden? Where they're not werewolves but there are alphas and ... knots. This is new, right? All of a sudden it's everywhere. Is it other fandoms, too?
knots?
It's a thing. An artifact from bestiality.
Canidae is the family of carnivorous and omnivorous mammals commonly known as canines. It includes dogs, wolves, foxes, coyotes, and jackals. These animals are all digitigrades, meaning they walk on their toes.
When mating, male canines develop a distinctive knot (the bulbis glandis) at the base of the erect penis which tends to trap the phallus inside the female's vagina for some time after copulation, ensuring greater reproductive success
You can buy dildos of it. Uh, NSFW, of course.
Without question this is the closest experience to the real thing that you can have.
Oh, yeah? Will it give me fleas?
