There's more than one way to skin a cat. And I happen to know that's factually true.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Someone else (or more than one) must have complained, because that comm is moderated.

I kinda wish I could get some dish on the deets, honestly. They're pretty tightly moderated. I'm pretty sure everything gets scanned for content before it goes up.

Two teenagers role-playing child molestation? You want us to know that got through your filters?

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

oh my, tiggy.

me too. I'm hoping the mods will make some official post, that it's not just that a bunch of people pm'd the posters and shamed them into flocking it.

On a much lighter note: Samhair through the ages. I love it.

Because books.

Samhair!

tiggy, that .gif made me think of The Benders, and then I started thinking about the perfect introductory episode again.

I came up with one from each season except for S6.

S1: The Benders, because it's got great teamwork, protective Dean and badass Sam (in a CAGE), fantastic outsider perspective from Kathleen, a horrifying situation that's not too gory, and some sharp observations about family and what we do for them.

S2: I already said Folsom Prison Blues, which I still like, but I would also throw in Crossroad Blues. The flashbacks of Robert Johnson are beautifully done, it's got the great lore, Sam and Dean's teamwork with added bickering about philosophy, sympathetic victims, Dean's enormous charm, smarts, AND vulnerability with the demon, and the demon itself, which is so integral to the show.

S3: Jus in Bello, for the scope of the demons' reach, the desperate situation and badass plan, great outsiders learning the hard way that the supernatural exists, decent backstory. AND VICTOR.

S4: Monster Movie! It's a lovely standalone with great humor, but also a nice twist on what a monster is, fantastic Dean charm, excellent rolling-eyes!Sam, and just enough brotherly ribbing and camaraderie.

S5: Dean Men Don't Wear Plaid, because it's got more action, a little more gore for those who might like that, excellent backstory and angst with Bobby (and an example of how Bobby is family to the boys now), another great female character and outsider, and a hint of the bigger arc.

I was, uh, bored. So I made a list.

My sister said she didn't want me to depress her with the ONE hour I get to make her watch. I told her they're relatively happy RIGHT NOW, so even if the episode is angsty, it's okay. Then there was interference on the line. Basically, she's not buying it.

So definitely not Jus in Bello. The Benders might be a good pick, though. Excellent brothery stuff, plus they walk off relatively cheerily. Crossroads Blues also too overall angsty, even if you don't know what you know. Monster Movie is a bit too outside the norm, so I wouldn't try her on that. And Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid--would bum her out too.

Benders or Folsom Prison Blues so far. Maybe also Bad Day at Black Rock, for some reason.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Hollywood Babylon! Although that also might be too outside the norm.

Not depressing-making really kinda narrows down the choices.

I left a note with the deancastiel mods saying I had felt uncomfortable and asking if they'd been retracted for cause, or was it the posters themselves. And if extreme pedo was going to be allowed normally,

We'll see.

Bad Day at Black Rock is a lot of fun.

My sister said she didn't want me to depress her with the ONE hour I get to make her watch.

But ... the angst is the yummy part.

I said, and I quote "Not even if they're pretty and they cry???" and there was more interference on the line. She doesn't want her big sis to make her sad.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

What about Tall Tales or Monster movie?
