I do not want Sam's soul back tonight. Soulless Sam is too much fun.

Bobby! Why'd you open the door?!!!!!
Bobby had Sam safely locked away.... so why open the door and go in there?
And now why are you following a clearly laid trap?!
Maybe Dean will buck the system and win?
-- Oh, well.
No.
There was a handy ladder in the panic room, and a ceiling vent that could be opened and escaped through in like 5 minutes? WTH?
Well, I don't know if this is better or not. I was afraid Tess was going to be standing there insisting that Dean take Bobby, so at least that won't happen.
Do you think maybe this whole thing is Death trying to teach Dean that sometimes it's better to leave things as they are?

Because it worked so well when the Trickster/Gabriel tried to teach Sam the same thing.
Holy shit, I thought we almost lost Bobby there.
This ep feels weird, with it's VSL, in that Dean already knows the fucked up consequences to circumventing death. Except he's not expressly trying to do that, but to remove Sam's soul from Hell. Unless Dean's new goal ends up being killing Sam DED and working to send his soul straight to Heaven.
Juliebird, what's VSL?
