Oh yeah, that's the anime Dean I was expecting. S1 Sam's sort of made for it, with the facial angles, the mop of hair, the long limbs, nice hollows and shadows. But damn, Dean's awful pretty too, and I am disappointed in the official version.
It's funny--I don't find de-aged brothers or Castiel cute, either. It always has at least an edge of tragedy for me. I know, I'm not right.
How do you distinguish between de-aged brothers and pre-series brothers? Do you need the context to have a proper emotional reaction?
I, uh, am canonically kinda caught up in weechesters--and I don't care how they get little, first time round, or spellwork. I love the stories, I love the graphics. I could go on forever. And I found someone on dA with a wee Castiel obsession that exceeds mine (she's illustrating her own fic, but she's gone chibi+wings with it, which I'm never going to do. But they're still adorable). And she found me because of my wee Castiel. The things that bring people together...
So...holding little kids. Amy made me do it, but their noses are almost too little to draw, and their hands and feet are so cutesy. And their body language...Oh, I'm off in that place again. Even pregnant Mary counts.
I guess the Anime Dean we're gonna get is going to be tougher. I'm not as up on all the tropes. Will we get an seme and uke? Colour coded?
Will we get an seme and uke?
The who with the what now?
Also, I totally wrote wee!Cas because of YOU! I see you over there changing the story, missy.
Not that I minded, of course. AT ALL.
Seme is the pitcher and uke is the catcher, and one's invariably more butch than the other -- guess who, and Seme is taller and broader and uke is meeker and prettier. My sister had thought she'd found a fandom, and then I explained the codifying and she was out as soon as she got in,
Oh, I love weechesters, pre-series. It's when one of the adults--just one, not both--is magically de-aged somehow that it seems tragic to me.
Someone had a WIP where Jimmy was a foster child in an abusive home. Castiel came to him as a child, and helped him find Bobby, who wound up taking him in. Slightly older than Dean, he was friends with the 'chesters as they visited all through their childhoods. I lost track of it, but I loved the interaction between Bobby and the boy, and how Bobby related to him as Jimmy, and as something more, without freaking out about that. And doing everything he could to repair and foster Jimmy.
Lovely story. I'd love to find it again.
Bev, Maychorian's "Rain Falling Down Around My Ears" [link] And the remix "Coming Down on a Sunny Day" [link] I randomly reread both of those last week. So Good.
Thanks, Julie, I'll take a look tomorrow.
Well, those don't look as happy as fairies, now do they?
