"You spent 40 years in hell. You were almost killed thanks to our screwup in delegating authority to Uriel. We just inflicted a new trauma so you could stop whining and get over it."
It's always been made pretty clear that the angels have No Clue when it comes to dealing with humans. (Castiel is finding a clue, bless 'im.)
As for Sam, I think what's important is that we get the same feeling that, no matter where you put him, Sam is and always will be a hunter. I'm hoping that they're pointing it out so that later, when Sam is tempted to go evil, that's how he'll resist and/or eventually come back.
As an Ohioan, I was sad that there was never a reference to where they were at. (For obvious reasons, I know, but I like Ohio shoutouts where I can get them.)
The Deputy Mayor? The one that Faith killed?
I suppose you noticed that Sam's ex was Madison? And when he phoned her he got an animal hospital?
Loved the Kinks. Loved.
I like Zachariah.
I thought that the Ghostfacers cameo was perfect.
Can't wait for next week's ultra-meta episode. (Did you catch the picture on the cover of the book? Totally Dean modelled by Fabio.)
I thought that Zacharaiah wasn't all cuddly, but he did seem to be engaging in some genuinely benevolent tough love that was intended to benefit Dean, specifically and personally, rather than just use him as #1 foot soldier for the Cause. For all that Castiel has a friendlier bedside manner, his manipulations have tended to ignore the cost to Dean while pursuing victory.
On the Sam front, I would hope that a few weeks living a normal, boring life, being at least fake friends with average people who aren't hunters or demon-animated corpses, and re-learning to trust his brother might have a positive effect as well.
I can't believe I didn't catch that their names were Smith & Wesson.
JDM discovers he has a 4 year old son with an ex.
BTW, after yesterday's conversation in Minearverse I was particularly amused by Zachariah's comment about decoupage and Dean's reaction to it.
I love this episode so much I want to have its babies.
This pretty much sums up the ep for me.
Thanks for thinking about the gore for me, Sail. Other people had it covered too.
Promo Monkeys strike again!!!
Omg - I cannot stop laughing.
Hee! Nice. And, hey,
Keegan Connor Tracy
! Yay! Don't really like the blonde look, though.
I needed this episode so much after last week's. What a pleasure. The only thing that left me a tiny bit unsatisfied is that there was no reunion between Sam and Dean after Dean learned the truth.
