Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

This was a higher ranked guy, in suits, with a thicker accent.

Still devastatingly sexy, of course.

Art Crawl!!!

He played a Russian mafioso on csi.

He was a Serbian (I believe) on 24.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I had a dream the other night that CW had moved Supernatural to it's cable station, and there were topless women and other Showtime-level things going on.

Someone on IO9 asked about fanfic again. It's nice to see more voracious readers come out of the woodwork. But one reader said that there isn't any good fic. What??? Then I remembered my sister's reaction to the two SPN fics I showed her, and then the Inception fic she was finding. Her long time in Brokeback Mountain fandom really hadn't given her much quality. We are lucky.

The OP asked for some recs. I don't know if she is into SPN, or into slash, but I figured this shortlist didn't require too much canon knowledge to appreciate:

  • Bird of Paradise (Hunger Games fusion)
  • It's Always The End Of The World Somewhere: High School alternate universe
  • Except Thou Bless Me: PORN. Oh, god, porn. Also, gay.
  • (Fear) The Reaper: Psych crossover, comedy

And then I recced a Leverage/White Collar comedy crossover just to show it wasn't all boys all the time.

She also asked about Mary Sue, which is a sore topic for me. I think people throw the term about, calling female characters Mary Sues when they are no cooler than a male character would be (seriously--Sam, Dean, Neal Caffrey, Hardison--how much do they rock?), and assuming that any self-insert has to be wanky. So I had to bring my fic up, and I ended up sending her that with the caveat that I didn't think Mary Sue/self insert was a genre. It is a trope, maybe.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I've been recording and watching some of the S1 reruns. Dean's quite attractive in them, but I think he got even hotter by S5.

I'll have to hunt down Misha's CSI and 24 episodes.

You should also look up his ER and NCIS appearances. He's very versatile. And the chick he's flirting with at the start of the NCIS ep? Was dating Colin at the time.

*I* need to track down his Nip/Tuck appearance. I've watched the clips, but context would be nice.

I cannot get over how gorgeous Sam is this season. In my head Dean is still cute. Sam is, WHOA DOGGIE.

Aw, I have to read the Psych crossover. I love hat goofy little show unto death. Thanks for asking, OP on I09. I owe you one. Well, and ita.

(Fear) The Reaper, for quick access.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I watched the Season 1 eps that aired this morning, and despite the thinner frame and Cousin It hairdo I think Jared was hotter back then. I think it's that his nose hadn't been stripped of all baby fat yet by his workout routine, nor his eyebrows of any trace of masculinity by whatever drag queen is currently over-plucking them for him.

Jensen was at his zenith back then too, particularly in the scarecrow episode. But he regains much of that ground in the off-season these days when he lets his hair grow a bit.

Also finding that I like the greater screentime spent in normal daytime locations and on interacting with run-of-the-mill people in those eps. Which cannot be attributed to my customary preference for the first season I see of shows, since I only caught Amy Acker's episode and the one with the Wendigo back in first run.
