But making him young as an instrument of characterisation is off to me. Even when he was a new human, he wasn't
young.
He was secure, and just got put out when pushed by Dean into genuinely embarrassing situations. He's not generally unsure. More often than not, he's BAMFy, or angsty. But not angstier than Dean, so it shouldn't be a reason to make him young.
eta: It's just that Cas is
so
much older than Dean in every scene. My brain doesn't see any reason for that flip, ever.
New ODD S6 promo pic.
Cas!!?! What have they done to you? Undo it! Undo it!
Undo it! Undo it!
Concur.
I wish I hadn't clicked. Not for any spoiler squeamishness, just ewwwwwness.
Look at the colors on Sam and Dean, though. I've never seen Sam wear a chocolate brown shirt, ever. I think that's just photo shoot styling, not real costuming.
Sam is looking hot, Dean looks fine, and
Misha
looks good. Shame they didn't put Cas in the pic, though.
But people who aren't crazycakes casual viewers probably don't know that.
So... is he not Cas because he's wearing black?
The only reason I'll accept Cas changing his wardrobe is because his SO starts dressing him. For any values of SO equalling Dean or Balthazar. Because they would care. Sam is not allowed to sleep with him, and frankly, can't be trusted sartorially.
That all looks brown to me.
Sam's fallback used to be the hoodie, but I have to say I approve of the v-neck t-shirts of right now. Mmmmm.
and frankly, can't be trusted sartorially.
Well, he is an abomination.
