Spike? It's you. It's really you! My therapist thought I was holding on to false hope, but…I knew you'd come back. You're like…you're like Gandalf the White, resurrected from the pit of the Balrog, more beautiful than ever. Oh…he's alive Frodo. He's alive.

Because books.

Oh, absolutely, ita. The colors are beautiful, too.

Afraid I wouldn't have known that was supposed to be Cas unless told, either. But it is beautiful.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

And to balance it out, whoa, the fic is badly written. I'm not sure what the beta did, but it had nothing to do with grammar.

That gave him some sorts of direction because really, the reason he and his teammates were here was because Ash kick-ass compass broke after a Taliban knifed it and they roamed in the mountains, running away from the Taliban, aimlessly. “Have you been there?” (Taliban is the same in plural)

I mean, honestly, what was everyone doing?

I'm reading it because...because I'll read them all that don't do RPF or have incest. But, ow.

Matt, when are you going to get enough free time to enter the fanart arena? Because I really want to see!

Actually, Mom's well enough to not require my supervision anymore, and I got everything in my apartment above floor level clean enough for company this weekend. But an unfinished illustration for an SGA/SG-1 fanfic is first on my to-do list.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Want to see Matt's work, too!

sumi, I did not go to Chicago Con. I couldn't take the crowds, nor the idea of paying to breathe the same room air as celebrities. I just read some good accounts of what went on and passed on the info.

Sam's indignaition and throaty mimic of Cas's "Hello," were priceless. Deeper bond, and I didn't want to tell him = awesome. And then the "Do you think I came for you?" smackdown of Dean was a nice follow-up. Sam is... well toned. Balthazar seems like loads of fun, and I am entirely sure we'll see him again. Aw, Cas. Dude. Hair pats and soup, little celestial wavelength. Next week looks intriguing. Maybe the start of some answers about Sammy. To sum up: Hi, Cas! Missed you, buddy.

Seriously, people?

That gorgeously illustrated fic continues to be appallingly awful. Really, really bad. I'm perplexed. Yet, still reading.

Balthazar at least mitigated some of my fears about the "rogue angel" that appeared in the casting sides. Though I really wish instead of Raphael pursuing the whole Apocalypse thing once again he'd just been so shaken by God intervening and scrapping the whole predestined plan that Heaven's legions were left directionless instead. Thus still allowing a chaotic situation without the need for Armageddon 2: Electric Boogaloo and a rehash of everything we just spend 2 years going through.

Oh, same here, Matt. I kinda freaked when I read about him, despite my best efforts. I went the wrong route thinking that he'd be replacing Castiel as an angel-of-interest. And then Balthazar won me over immediately (congrats, Sebastian Roche!) and Cas got even more interesting.

And yeah, while I'd rather not the tease of Apocalypse-redux, it does follow. That for all of the behind-the-scenes "we're done with that", it never made sense that they'd just scrap everything and have it still hold together. So my only discordance is with what the writers/showrunners have said, and not the internal logic.
