Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?

[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US on TV (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though — if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I read The Tribulation of Chuck because it seemed like a good idea at the time, and the world could use more good Chuck fic, but man, what incredibly OOC Castiel, unsatisfying D/C, and weirdly flat SamandDean. I...uh...I'm going back to bed. That disappointed me.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

tomorrow night!!!

I'll be staying with my BFF who doesn't believe in cable tomorrow through Sunday. Luckily I finally got TiVo this week (not just for Supernatural . . . entirely), so I'll just have to stay spoiler free until Sunday afternoon.

The TNT reruns included "Wishing Well" yesterday. I think that may be one of my favorite episodes. "Kneel before Todd!"

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I stayed up too late reading a huge cloudyjen fic that posited that Castiel has known Dean since he was a baby.

Considering the entire first part was wee!Dean and NotMisha!Castiel, I actually enjoyed that part, was surprised at how not-creepy Dean and Cas' love was for each other, and enjoyed Cas' friendship with Mary. But, man, the second we get to going through the events we've already seen... I am so not a fan, not in any fic. I mean, here it was mostly just background noise, but to spend the entirety of part 2 waiting for Dean to be raised from perdition, and the repeated machinations as to why Cas has been unable to interfere this whole time, and knowing that it'll take all of part 3 before Cas takes Jimmy as his vessel... I coulda been sleeping. But there are glimpses of brilliance and interesting interpretations of canon and Zacchariah's devious machinations, and Uriel fleshed out as a multi-faceted personality.

It's just long.

Reversebang art is up (you need to be a member to see). There's some great-assed shit out there.

Julie, is that the Soul Piece story? I couldn't do that one, because of excessive schmoop.

ita, yeah, there was much skimming involved, and way, way too many curtains. I've never been so relieved to read torture scenes.

I didn't get as far as any torture. Just the whole destiny thing put me so off. I prefer a Cas who wasn't really paying much attention to Dean until after he yanks him out of hell. If he chooses then to go back in time and look, that's one thing. But a piece of his soul? Nopers.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

every once in a while I still get that "I miss my girl" feeling.

Oh Amy, this so much.

My feelings about Kripke are based solely on his interviews. If I hadn't seen him and went entirely on the show, I'd probably like him. I just hear his voice in "on a good day, you kill a whore" which maybe isn't fair, but I hear it.

Joss I just take with a grain of salt, like maybe he's not as perfect as I once imagined. There isn't anyone else I'm not fond of, really. I have no guage for Tim at all other than his writing, Minearverse and a small amount on Facebook. From those, I'm a HUGE fan. I'm pretty sure we'd be best friends. He should call me.

Tomorrow!! Well, it airs tomorrow, it's still a crap shoot whether I will see it then. Kids, what do they expect? I mean, what has my son done for me lately that I miss my favorite show for Parents Day? Whatev. Yeah, yeah, rock chalk jayhawk, my ass.

--in reality I think he's the only person for whom I don't mind missing SPN.

Oh!!! Happy Birthday Marcia!

Boys, boys, boys, need boys!

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Marcia birthday? Your present is tomorrow night! Well, not from me, of course, but you can still think of it as a present! Meanwhile, I hope it's happy. Set a cake on fire! No rock salt though, unless you're one of those salty and sweet fans.

Because books.

Happy birthday, Marcia!

I can't believe you're missing it tomorrow, Theresa. You are a Good Mom, for real.
