I am Theresa wrt Carmen being an idealized memory of Lisa.

Unfortunately for me, I think Michelle Borth had magnitudes more chemistry with Ackles than does the Lisa actress. I just like the actress better, and as Theresa says, Carmen held her own place onscreen with Jess and Mary.

I think Carmen was *supposed* to be an empty fantasy based on a beer ad, precisely because Dean has nothing of his own in that episode. All his wishes are based on others' happiness -- John's peaceful death after a long life, his mother alive and happy and enjoying her sons, Sam on his way to lawyerdom and marriage to Jess.

The whole *point* was that Dean didn't want anything for himself that the djinn could use in his fantasy.
