Around that ep, it feels like there were a lot of scenes where they'd given up going to bed properly, e.g. in sleep clothes and under the covers. I fanwank that they were up late researching and simply crashed downstairs out of convenience.
It could also be that they would feel defenseless if they were so far from the front door?
