Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?

[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US on TV (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though — if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.

I thought that doll's head was a russet potato for the longest time. For the life of me, I could not work out how a potato played into the Supernatural theme.

Apparently no one can draw Jensen, either.

It would help if they actually used Jensen for photo reference, instead of Chris Hemsworth.

Man, when I get through with my current crop of superhero RPG illustrations I'm going to have to try one just to see if I can buck the trend and make it look anything like the actor.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I desperately want to see Matt's entrée into the Supernatural fanart world.

Dean's a bitch, yo. Sam has easy shorthand, and Cas has decent shorthand, but for all Jensen's pouty lips and sexily-lidded eyes, every attempt I've made at him looks like generic guy. And judging by most fanart, I'm totally not alone.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Details most people drawing Jensen overlook: the topline of his nose has a notch out of it on the right side, just a little divot. And his left eye is slightly smaller, with a leeeeetle bit of a cast. It's not as crucial, but he does have the hairline scar on his right chin. Everybody draws him perfect, and it's the imperfections that make his face interesting, right?

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Is anyone seeing SPN posters out there

There was a SPN ad (among others) on my Netflix envelope yesterday.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I think this artist did a better than average job with Dean. [link]

petite-madame is generally brilliant, but even her guitar-playing Dean later on in that post is pretty generic.

Dang it! Now I'm spending my Saturday staring at fan art.

I think this is a pretty good likeness.

This too, though the nose is not right.

ETA: This gets major points for capturing the spirt of Dean if not entirely his likeness.

Because books.

Those are all pretty good, ehab. Definitely sketched from photos, though, I assume, which still takes major talent.

It's the ones that are paint on photos that seem like cheating to me, but then I can only draw stick figures, so what do I know.

Yeah. I wasn't sure if that was considered "cheating" or not since I can't draw worth shit.
