For the record, I would like to state that there's a world of difference betwee whump and torture. I'm not opposed to either one, but there is a difference.
Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?
[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US on TV (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though — if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.

Yeah. That gen BB I linked to yesterday that I said was Dean!whump? Quickly became Dean!torture. I kinda slacked off reading it when it got really brutal.
Oh absolutely get the disk with Pollo Loco on it. One, Ben is my favorite ever. But it's also canon that reverbs through S2 so you are better for watching it.
Ben... Sigh.
I'll admit that I've been skimming the Last Child BB, the one with the torture. What's worse than the torture? the stupidity. When the rescue finally happens, there's lots of talking and arguing instead of taking care of business, leading to more being trapped and hurt. Like, all of this would be over three chapters ago if Sam and Dean, or rather, the writer, weren't so long-winded.
I should have known, with how long the prologue was in it's loving detail.
Oh god, they're taking the time to save the cow now.
Okay, I get it now. Clumsy plot device to get Sam to see the instruments of torture used on Dean.
And to top it off, after all of that, Sam takes him, not to a hospital, but a crappy motel to fix him himself. The fuck?
Catching up on some reading, and this is absolutely fabulous. It shifts between Dean post S5 finale and a case when he was 18 and Sam was 14 (and still short).
Beautifully written, and creepy as hell, and the payoff at the end... I'll be flailing about this one for a while.
Plus, whoever wrote this did a brilliant job at showing John with the boys. Lots of head-butting and drill-sergeanting, yes, but with a sense of love and affection. Tricky balance to pull off, but it's done very well here. The Dean-n-Ben scenes are also priceless.
Anne, that story is fabulous! Still not finished, but I just got to the instory mention of the title, and I am thoroughly intrigued and nervous.
I can't wait to hear what you think of the ending.
Oh. Wow. That was wonderful.
I agree with one of the comments that this could be an excellent season 6 episode 1 (or maybe ep 2).
Also, if Ben is written like this in season 6, I'd like to keep him.
