What is even happening?

Matt, it's the idea of Ben (more than the execution) that I like. I like the idea that all along, Dean has had something he never thought he would.

Kneel before Glod. ~Stephen Colbert

I thought this would qualify for the bowlegged category, Y/N?

I seem to find myself fixated not on his legs. If I were 40 years younger, I'd have both boys plastered all over my bedroom walls.

Art Crawl!!!

Ialso liked the idea of Ben better than the Ben that they showed us.

People who dislike like Provenance Sarah are wronger than the wrongest wrong thing in Wrongdonia.

I am hoping that Dean's inabililty to be happy in the life that he promised Sam he'd live - with Sam's hope that he would be happy in 'normal' life will provide us with lots of pain and angst.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I really really don't want Ben to be Dean's. I can't articulate it very well. It's a strong visceral DNW. Firstly, I don't think it's fair at this point for them to have spawn. I don't think it's fair to the plotline for there to have been another potential vessel. I don't think it's fair to their continued nomadic lifestyle for him to have a child, and I don't want any of the compromises he'd have to make as a result--staying, or leaving his child behind.

Just finished a gen BB entry that I liked a fair amount: Somewhen I was meant to be. Pretty sad premise, but at least it's all there in the summary, and that's what the whole fic is dealing with.

Now off to finish the also gen Last Child which opens with a pretty harsh scene of child abuse and non con with a minor and has progressed to heavy Dean whump. Not sure if it's worth it yet.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

A long (had to be posted in three parts) SPN/Burn Notice crossover just got posted. I'm only partway through it, but so far, so good. Since it's from Michael Westen's p.o.v. so far (and the writer has nailed the voice) it's got in interesting outsider perspective on the boys.

It's here if anyone's interested. There are some formatting glitches where the em dashes turn into question marks, but it's worth plowing through all the same.

...all my words have been taken by my work. - Mala

I thought I'd be able to find the Dark Angel crossover WIP by search or working my way backwards through the thread, but no luck (prolific posters you are). Would someone be willing to re-post the link?

Because books.

I still don't think Ben is Dean's. I think they made it as clear as they're going to that he isn't, and I can't see them revisiting that when Lisa claims she had bloodwork done. (Although ... who she tested it against is a little fuzzy, but.)

I liked Sarah a lot. She had sass. And she was smart and warm and certainly open-minded. I would have liked to see more of her.

I could imagine her deciding to become an expert on haunted/cursed/etc. antiques. (And now I'm thinking of a scenario where she could run into Bela. Great. Like I needed another plot bunny right now.)

Of Desire And The Status Quo, ehab.

Off to look at the BN fic. I've only read one BN/SPN fic, where Lucifer starts appearing to Michael. It made me grumpy because it kinda implied Michael was stronger than Sam, and I do have my favourites.

I don't dislike Sarah, but she doesn't matter to me, or to my imaginary version of Sam.

I can't argue with any of this on an intellectual level. I just want Dean to be this kid's daddy because I do. It's a loopy loop.
