I just started an interesting post-5x22 fic [link] where Cas get Dean to try and find Sam. So far it's different and well-written. There's Crowley and Heavenly regime changes and I'm not sure yet what's going on Bobby or Lisa.
'The Train Job'
Supernatural 2: Why is it our job to save everybody?
[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US on TV (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though — if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
Man, another fic that stops short of actually finding Sam and explaining what-the-hell is his deal. But the way it handles everything else is definitely unique.
I hated what they did with Crowley. It just felt apologetic and unwilling to accept the character in canon. Which coloured the rest of the fic for me.
I hated that there was actual Bobby/Crowley friendship with hints of more.
It was influenced by Good Omens, maybe that's where the Crowley changes came from?
I wonder if Neil Gaiman received a screen credit or any royalties for Season 5? Between Crowley and the whole "Hammer of the Gods" episode I feel like he should have been added to the writing staff.
I hate fic where Crowley's made nicer than he is in canon. Let him be! Don't fix him. Just because he's a fan favourite doesn't mean he has to be rehabilitated. I think it's lazy and sentimental.
I think you misspelled Spike, ita
I keep having plot bunnies. It's disturbing because I don't write fic. The latest? I really want Dean to come home and find Lisa and Castiel in pretzel-like yoga positions. Mostly because I know Misha can do it and Castiel doing yoga gives me giggles.
If that were to devolve to a threesome I might be okay with that especially if done well and involving further humerous contortions.
At least canon hasn't rehabbed Crowley. Joss was part and parcel of the Spike problem, although it started before he made clear changes.
But that fic isn't the first one I've read where they've angelified Crowley, and damn! Stop it!
Watching Under The Red Hood. It's totally predictable to want Jason/Dick, right?
ehab, I have the same curse of the non-productive. I'm currently wanting an SPN vid to the Eurhythmics Missionary Man with Dean and Castiel (can be pre-slash).
Perkins, you commissioned a vid, didn't you? How does one even do that? Of course, I'd need a less cracky idea.
