I just remembered something I wanted to say about incest fic in fandom!

In bandom, which is not the same as popslash, and concerns a loosely connected bunch of bands, people have slashed Gerard and Mikey Way, brothers in My Chemical Romance, for a while.

And I know there are Jonas Brothers fans who write not only about the brothers in various combinations, but sometimes with their mom, apparently. Granted, the only reason I know that is because some SPN folks on my flist wandered in the JoBros love somehow. As SPN fans, they had to be aware of the Wincest, even if they weren't fans of it, so it's hard to know if other fans of JoBros also slash them, but it's a point of interest anyway, I guess.

There's incest in Harry Potter fic too, but I doubt many fandoms are supporting 40+% of their fic that way. I guess it's just a thing.

Julie, do you mean the fic where Dean and Sam are outlaw hunters and Cas is a priest in the Wild West? Or is there other Western AU fic I'm missing?

I would like to beseech (not that anyone here is the right audience) all multi-chapter or series writers to LINK YOUR CHAPTERS. God, people. Why would you not want me to find chapter two from chapter one? I'd also highly recommend tagging your 'verses and series, and master posts are great too--but if I land in chapter one somehow, how am I supposed to find the master post?

I guess some people use memories, but I really never think to look in another user's memories for their own stuff.

yeah, the first chapter I found was preacher!Cas getting kidnapped at a wedding, and then when I found the first chapter, it was a fic about Mary and John.

The others are either D/C or pre D/C--there's not a lot of flow between them: Master Post. The first one I read was the first one you read too, and it's not the first one in their story. Confusing. THere's only the one John/Mary.

More AU fun and games: Lazarus Coming. Okay, not fun and games. It's a porn movie AU, with broken Cas. The writer does an interesting dance with the sex (of which there is a lot, starting right away) and the emotion (which has a different beat).

I have decided I want an SPN/Dollhouse crossover. One where Dean sells himself to the Dollhouse to save Sam's life at the end of S2 instead of going to hell.

And then Sam has to get him back. And we can have Castiel in this AU too.

That's so funny -- I was just thinking yesterday, after watching AHBL, that an AU where Dean doesn't make the deal would be cool (even though Sam would have to die). But then Castiel could bring SAM back for Dean, after ... I don't know ... Dean does something heroic or possibly self-destructive in his grief, and that's when Cas tells him he has a role to play, etc.

Or something like that.
