Honestly, I've read less than a handful of good relevant fics. I'm disappointed in a fandom that seems much happier with pity shipping Sammy with Gabriel.
Just finished the BB fic This Time Around. Diverges from canon just before the pilot pretty much. I'm not in love with it, but it's a good casefile with an interesting premise, and the art is great. She makes me jealous.
And in different styles! I love the vintage book illustrations.

I'm not sure if it's Sam's nose, or the pointed chin, but artists seem to get Sam to look right much more often than Dean. With Dean a lot of the time, it's only the clothes that hint at the character.
JA is a bitch to draw. His lips are hard to capture. Between JP's hair and his nose, he's much easier.
Does it make it harder that he's so perfect? I mean that honestly. His features are so balanced, there's nothing as quirky and individual as JP's nose.
