Because books.

The constant "y'all" melts me right into a puddle. A sad Amy-shaped puddle of heart eyes.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

A lovely Jimmy vid: [link]

I have to say, I interpreted the end differently than the 'authorial' intent. I thought the "you" had shifted to mean someone other than Claire and Amelia. Because I'm fucked up like that.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Julie, you shipper you.

I think it's really sad when people write fics where John processes how pretty Dean is and then cuts his hair or lets him get extra beat up in sparring practice. But then you see pictures like this where JA was probably 18 or over (because he looked young for quite a while) and I can totally see where there paranoia would come from--leaving a kid looking like that without supervision all the time.

That's twinky as all hell, but it's powerfully pretty.

And that's not to say I don't like those fics. Hell, that picture screams inspiration for a flood of hustler!Dean stories.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

It's why The One Where Dean Gets the Knife guts me. Um, to use a knife-ish verb.

What the fuck do you do when you live on the fringes, have a life where you're convinced you have to be away from your children, and the one in charge looks like that, and is developing a strong sexual identity?

Strikes me as a parental nightmare.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Heh. And I wasn't talking about Dean.

And the winner of the season 5 deathmatch is:

Chuck: Three days later another car rolled off that same line. No one gave two craps about her, but they should've. Because this 1967 Chevrolet Impala would turn out to be the most important car... no, the most important object in pretty much the whole universe.

by 10 votes to 6.

Season 1:

Dean: I think he wants us to pick up where he left off. You know, saving people, hunting things—the family business. (10:5)

Season 2:

JOHN:You know, when you were a kid, I'd come home from a hunt, and after what I'd seen, I'd be, I'd be wrecked. And you, you'd come up to me and you, you'd put your hand on my shoulder and you'd look me in the eye and you'd... You'd say "It's okay, Dad" Dean, I'm sorry.
DEAN:What?
JOHN: You shouldn't have had to say that to me, I should have been saying that to you. You know, I put, I put too much on your shoulders, I made you grow up too fast. You took care of Sammy, you took care of me. You did that, and you didn't complain, not once. I just want you to know that I am so proud of you. (7:6)

Season 3:

Sam: Yeah, because I've been following you around my entire life. I mean, I've been looking up to you since I was four, Dean. Studying you, trying to be just like my big brother. So, yeah, I know you. Better than anyone else in the entire world. And this is exactly how you act when you're terrified. And, I mean, I can't blame you. It's just...
Dean: What?
Sam: It's just, I wish you would drop the show and be my brother again, 'cause... just 'cause. (10:1)

Season 4:

Castiel: I'm the one who gripped you tight and raised you from perdition. (11:3)

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Reading those five quotes in a row really does summarize the series pretty well.
