Exactly. Best leave them as is, having made peace with their loss. Just being family to a vessel of a promoted angel is a legitimate danger.
I didn't like in that last fic you linked to how Dean didn't even remember their last name. I'd hope for more than that.

Yeah, that was the one thing that really bugged. They met briefly, don't know each other terribly well, but it wasn't like it they had met at a dinner party. It was a seriously intense couple of days. I have to rewatch The Rapture to see if Jimmy knew their names because Castiel did.
