I think Plei did, actually, but here's Snuffleupagus at any rate. Be warned: this is gen but a gut punch.

I is confused.
Oh! God, I had forgotten about that. I thought you mean the two gen stories I recced to Typo the other day, which I knew weren't Snuffleupagus. So I assumed Matt found it in Plei's gen recs.
May! Who remembers May?!
Not me! I did a search for Snuffleupagus, and you were the only one I saw who recced it.
Remix of Snuffleupagus, by the author of Cartography in Empty Spaces. She's one of my favorite SPN authors, actually.
I'd call it more of a fixit fic than a remix but it was great nonetheless.
what constitutes a remix?
Same events retold from a different point of view?
So I assumed Matt found it in Plei's gen recs.
This, actually. I missed it in Amy's earlier recs, possibly because I didn't remember it by name until I randomly happened across it in Plei's and had the "Oh, THAT'S that great creepy story" reaction.
Remix varies. It can be taking one point or event from a story and spinning a story off at a tangent. POV of the story from a minor character, or a story of a character who touched the original story only peripherally, for example, a before-work argument between a couple, and the woman works at the diner and serves breakfast to Sam and Dean. I think for SPN it's often a story told from Sam's point of view retold from Dean's, or vice-versa. This actually did fit the criteria, though it's undoubtedly a fixit fic as well.
I'm pretty sure I've also read remixes that didn't jibe entirely on plot points with the originals, as if they took the same premise and went different directions with them.
