Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

it's sort of like changing Batman's uniform

He's grey. He's blue. He has nipples. His head doesn't turn. His belt is yellow. He shines. He's matte. The height of his ears. The colour of his logo...

The small things about Batman's costume change all the time. And I'm going to come down on the side of jelly bracelets being smaller than the colour of Batman's outfit.

A nod to Dean divesting himself of talismans he'd worn as touchstones, to ground him--the bracelet and ring

You've decided the ring is a talisman. The text has never acknowledged that. To him it was apparently just a bottle opener.

Oh yeah, jelly is far less important than the skully one. Mostly because I know the meta and it never seemed much a part of Sam, anyway. It was always Jared's.

Because books.

Yeah, I think the only talisman was the amulet -- we saw it in Skin, even, when he snatched it back from the shapeshifter.

The bracelets never seemed to mean much, other than that I liked how they looked on him.

...all my words have been taken by my work. - Mala

Wow I almost came in here upset about what vancouvernights posted as well and then I got distracted by something else.

I also decided as she's not a fan of the show and is not in charge of writing the show (which she pointed out) that her opinion about the amulet was not meaningful.

She is looking at it probably from the purely observational perspective that the amulet was in the trash at the end of that episode.

I care about the amulet and hope it reappears. I don't care about it more than I care about the car or the boys.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

All this jewelry discussion is just making me want to watch the boys.

And I'm still making a grumpy face over the amulet. But I agree. Still not happy about it.

Excuse me while I have to go look at pics of the Impala now.

Kneel before Glod. ~Stephen Colbert

In spite of this being the blow-out I anticipate it will be, I'm going with:

  • Family (because in the end that's what the boys chose)

Aw, this is nice. An ad thanking Kripke in The Hollywood Reporter.

I like the end especially.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

That's a nice quote from Kripke too. One of very few that doesn't make me want to whack him with a spoon.
