Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.
So I'm reading TV Guide's worst couples and they don't like Sam/Ruby. Which, you know, okay. But their reasoning sounded kinda childlike:
As much as we want to see our Winchester boys take the occasional break from the hunt and cater to their libidos, "hot sex" should not involve a hellhound. For starters, bedding a demon calls into question stalwart Sam's allegiance.
That's not the pairing they don't like, that's just a major plot point for the season.

Which has some very funny parts (tho' I winced at the teddy bear suicide), but is not enough to make me miss going to see the sparkly vampire movie at the local dollar theatre.
