Wesley: Feng Shui. Gunn: Right. What's that mean again? Wesley: That people will believe anything. Actually, in this place, Feng Shui will probably have enormous significance. I'll align my furniture the wrong way and suddenly catch fire or turn into a pudding.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Bev neatly sums up my wishes, so I add to them my own.

Swouncing

Theo, lots of health vibes to your mom, and some whichever-kind-you-may-want vibes for you, as well.

Jesse, lots of health vibes to your grandmother, and of course, lots of those multi-purpose vibes for your mom and you and all your family.

msbelle, I hope all goes as well as possible tomorrow, on all fronts, health, mac, home, your peace of mind - you name it. Just in case, lots of the good vibes are crossing the ocean your way right now.

(You know, the more health and which-kind-you-need vibes one sends, there are just more to send, I believe, and even to bigger distances and stranger timezones. They're one of the few things in nature which increase in amount, the more you use them.)

I poked my head to post that your guys rock, even when I (sadly) hardly ever get to post nearly at all, even when you don't type a single font. No, really.

A friend here needed something important (medical info for his father) sent from the USA, and sending it collect would have cost almost 4 times the regular price, and he wasn't sure if PayPal accepts Israeli currency. I just said: "Look, tell me what you need. I'm sure I can find somebody to help me with this in the USA. There won't be any problem. They'll trust me for paying them back, they'll be even pleased to help out. Dude, just tell me what you need". Only, well, I didn't actually say "dude", because the conversation was in Hebrew.

Eventually it turned out that PayPal changed their policy, and are probably accepting Israeli money now (they didn't, in the past) if one has an international credit card, so he didn't need any of the possible will-be-offered help. But it just felt so good to be able to say that, to know that my back is so thoroughly covered, I wanted to thank you guys.

[Edit: also, I had to share this xkcd, which is a thing of truth and beauty, complete with a "Serenity" reference as a bonus.]

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Hee. Thanks, Nilly—I forwarded the xkcd comic to a friend of mine who's a serious Serenity fan, but otherwise not very much into onine culture.

Much calm~ma and no-big-thing~ma to Msbelle and Mac.

Goodness my shoulders ache today. I spent a goodly chunk of yesterday rearranging my living room, including shifting all the furniture and electronics, and today my body's registering a complaint or 50. But my upstairs neighbor is getting a shiny new TV and handing down her current one to me. It's still crt (hence the need to shift furniture), but it's nearly twice the screen size of my current one. We just have to get it down the stairs.

And my landlord OKed me getting a cat, so yay!

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That comic is awesome.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I love that it gives the weight of a cat both with and without caption.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Yay future cat and Calli!

And OMG of the day: one of my freaking world-known-professors recognizes me. I ran into him today and he said hey. And I only approached him to talk after class twice. Big wow.

(... I'm impressed by academic skills. However, very unimpressed by the technical skills of the computer farm I'm typing from right now (AINFG). The ink ran out when I printed something earlier, and now there's a tech problem preventing me from printing. Dude. Not cool).

Also, very very tired. For it was a Monday, and the Gronk (also, to my typing skills, known as fring) was mighty. And the slithy toves did gyre and gimble in the wabe.

Now tagless for your comfort.

But it just felt so good to be able to say that, to know that my back is so thoroughly covered, I wanted to thank you guys.

I also love that buffistas comfy blanket feeling.

xkcd is the bestest.

I hope things are going well for msbelle.

Yes, but that pesky winter-tilty thing means it's still cold.

The kids and I are eating cinnamon toast for breakfast.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?
