I woke up and heard the weather report--temp's supposed to drop from mid-30s to low 20s by tonight. So, I figured I should take out all the bags of garbage I accumulated during my cleaning purge yesterday before the meltwater turned into sheets of ice in front of the dumpster in the parking lot. Four bags are now in the dumpster, and my closet and fridge are cleaned out. It was already icing up a bit, so I'm glad I got out there when I did.

This week isn't going to be fun. I really liked my two successive weeks of 16 hours of work! I'm taking Inauguration Day off to go to a friend's breakfast and watching of the ceremony on TV (she's already got champagne for mimosas--I'm bringing the juice), so that'll be my next day off.

I am...

I'll think about it. But I do have a house to insulate this winter. so the $$4 factor may come into play.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I got some out-of-season strawberries at the grocery. I couldn''t resist. I don't know if they're delicious because it's the middle of winter or because they're actually delicious.

DH is getting tired of the snow and cold already. He's making plans for retirement to someplace hot.

I am actually looking forward to going back to work, my time off has sort of blown.

I'm can't quite go that far, but I do wonder why I can get more done during a productive two-day weekend than I have been able to with 12 days off.

Also, I'm so sorry to hear 2008 decided to give you one last swift kick on its way out the door, Nora.

Timelies, all. I haven't even really been able to get caught up on the board with my time off (only selected threads).

I've got a sexy Scottish geologist on my tv right now! Science Channel is showing three eps of Hot Rocks, hosted by Dr. Iain Stewart, who is smokin' hot and has a wonderful brogue. The fact that he's educating in an entertaining way is whipped cream on the hot chocolate.

wash duvet cover and dry in drier to de-cat it - in progress
vacuum my room
clean bathroom
clear and wipe down counters and table - started
bag up items that are getting donated/ebayed and take to storage room (2 grocery carts full, I think a thrift store run is due)
put away all my clothes

litter boxes
