Happy (belated) birthday, shrift!
And, for those of you who might have missed the news:
Anyone seen my government's logic? Someone? Please?
So sorry, Shir. I'm sure this has to do with the virtual interregnum while we wait for Obama to take office.
Bush would rather go around doing interviews trying to dictate to history how his legacy will be viewed than do anything that might unscrewify the Gaza situation. (Or maybe he's been on the phone numerous times and the Israelis are just laughing politely at his requests.)
I have WiiFit too -- I especially like the balance games. I only just managed to get a clean run through the ski slalom the other day!
Actually, Theodosia - not that Israel doesn't make use of the virtual interregnum - but a lot of people here reckon Israel would have had peace by now if 3rd sides wouldn't try to bridge between the sides.
I'm not sure what I think about it. Sometimes a third side is needed, but they usually come with their own agendas about what should be on the peace contract. But I don't think Obama said anything about the "situation" yet. "The situation", btw, is a very used word here to describe the suckness of the army/security situation.
But I guess a lot of people feel the "heh heh!" factor towards Olmert. This is the second war during his term. No other prime minister had two wars on his/her resume.
Timelies all!
The gig last night went pretty well, though the musicians ended up doing more work than the dancers. Ah, well...
Ugh, Shir.
Sophia, I don't think the leeks are really necessary, really.
This is so cool....
Eddie Izzard has given a private performance of his live show to a victim of the Mumbai terror attacks.
Will Pike had tickets to see the comic’s West End show, Stripped, before Christmas, but was unable to attend as he is recovering from serious injuries.
So his father, Nigel, asked Izzard if he would send a message of support to his bed-bound son at the South London spinal unit where he is being treated.
According to The Times, the comic decided to go much further, and performed the entire 90-minute routine at the hospital bedside. ‘It was a great thing to do,’ Nigel said.
Will, from Hampstead, North London, had attempted to flee the terrorists in the Taj Mahal hotel by climbing down from his hotel room using an improvised rope made from bedsheets. But it gave way, causing him to fall three storeys.
The 28-year-old broke three of his vertebrae, both his arms and shattered his pelvis and is still unable to move his legs.
Oh, that's really nice.
I just realized something kind of disturbing -- I've had a week of sleeping as much as I want, and I still slept nine hours last night! I think my New Year's Resolution should be to go to bed much earlier on weeknights.
word. I didn't go to bed until after 1 last night. Any wonder I want to sleep in? no. It makes me a grumpy grump.
