This weekend:
Tonight, M picks up his best friend from TO. I meet up with them for a bit, and then I go to a birthday party in the Castro.
Tomorrow, I shall probably try to sleep away the last of this infection, maybe take a motorcycle ride, hang out w/M & his friend and then there's a birthday party (for someone else) in North Beach.
Sunday, there is football and then *another* birthday party in the Castro.
I'm telling all of the birthday boys that my presence is gift enough, dammit.
Ooooh, I think I have a brunch on Sunday! Better check my calendar. Aside from that, not much aside from working on more Actionscript -- I've nearly got an XML-based slideshow whipped into shape. Like, I have to add captions next, which will be a nice piece of functionality.
Yep, just ablaze with excitement here....
I would just like to say, BZUH??
Yesterday evening, James Dobson’s Focus on the Family Action sent out a fundraising e-mail lamenting the victory of Barack Obama. (Dobson had personally endorsed the McCain-Palin ticket.) The author of the e-mail, Focus on the Family Action senior vice president Tom Minnery, told his readers not to despair, saying that the right wing would overcome this situation just as Britons overcame Hitler’s bombing in World War II:
The spirit of Winston Churchill was alive and well on Tuesday night at Focus on the Family Action headquarters.
You may recall that in the most desperate days of World War II – when Great Britain was being pounded daily by Hitler’s Luftwaffe – that Winston Churchill called on his countrymen not to despair from danger but to rise to the challenge. […]
As our incredible team of staff members watched the election results pour in on Election Night, an amazing thing happened that Churchill might have recognized. Despite some sobering disappointments, there was no mood of despair and no “bunker mentality.”
Update: Ben Smith points out that, on the Corner, John Derbyshire compares Obama's Americorps program to Nazi concentration camps and medieval forced labor.
Can we Godwin's Law political discourse? Please?

It looks like a Hot Wheel! I love the bubble-top, although it looks like it might be a PITA getting in and out.
If I am not mistaken, Ben Stein and Crazy-Ann Coulter had already made Hilter references wrt Obama.
I'm sorry, Daisy Jane. Good luck with the job hunt. I hope you find something perfect for you, quickly.
I forgot my knitting and have an hour in a waiting room withonly my BB for entertainment.
Good luck, DJ. At the rate I'm going, you'll have a job before me....
DJ, bah, and luck.
Frankly, I don't see how anyone bought that claim: if you watch how she's dressed, she's still dressed very well for the last two weeks of the campaign, much better than she did before she was nominated.
The concession night dress looked very expensive to me.
Apparently, you can accidentally get 100! Hey! Go me!
