"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Now was the very first time I opened a news site today just to check on the weather for tomorrow, not the news.

Wow.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh, Nilly and Shir, our thoughts are with you and everyone there. I hope reason and peace can prevail.

Totally this.

On a lighter note, happy belated birthdays to theodosia and quester, and thanks to all for birthday wishes to me! I had a really good family trip, and am now super excited to be home for another week of vacation!

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Shir and Nilly, I haven't been on much today, but your safety -- and any hope of peace for the whole region -- have been very much on my mind.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Bday greetings still much appreciated today. Not the easiest of visits with my Mom, healthwise.

Swouncing

OK, I wanna post something today that isn't news related, even if only because I tried to have my today not be exclusively news-related (but, frankly, it's because I really wanna brag and show off, so there you have it).

So here's the Simpsons kipa that I finished on Thursday night, for the wedding of a dear family friend. And when I say "finished" and "for the wedding" I mean that in the most literal sense of the word - you can see me finishing it mere seconds before the khoopa. That kipa was such fun hard work.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

That is awesome.

“Not dead yet!”

Nilly, that rocks like a rocking thing.

That is brilliant, Nilly!

Oh, here's a favorite moment from Christmas -- introducing my father to Inside Pants! My mother got him these flannel pajama bottoms, and he was all, I would wear these all the time! Inside pants!!
