This is not funny. This... this is a morality tale about the evils of sake.

I would like to defend the fashions of the early 90s. I wore Levis 501s, Docs, t-shirts (which I admit were probably too baggy), and vintage cashmere sweaters. I'd wear much the same now, except closer-fitting, and Danskos instead of Docs (since I am OLD and a LIBRARIAN and a MOTHER).

Punishingly Intricate

Ah, boot-cut jeans. My thunder thighs love you.

Seriously!!!

sarameg, hope you can put it all aside until next Monday and have a relaxing and fun time with your family. A48 might not be too bad because they reserve the first 20 or so seats for "Business Class" travelers who have paid more but there never seem to be many of them. (I've flown on Southwest A. Lot. this year.)

anyway, I hope you have happiest holidays!

This goes for everybody!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Well, I'm feeling more chrismassy since I ventured over to the East Bay and found an Actual Toy Store (they're in short supply in SF since FAO and Toys 'R Us shut down).

Got Emmett a big Lego set he wanted and was sorely sorely tempted by the big wooden Victorian dollhouse for Matilda until I remembered she's only 2.

What age do you think would be ideal for the receipt of a big wooden Victorian dollhouse? 4? 6? Wha?

6 more than 4, IMO.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I got a big Victorian Wooden Dollhouse when I was 30? But it was mostly because I was dying for one when I was 6-8 yrs old.

Well, I'm gone for a week. Which is part of the problem, but really, who really thinks you can cram in a major project in the couple weeks before the holidays? So many people I needed are not here. And now I'm not either.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Eight seems the age that my cousins' grandparents sent them the dollhouse version of Hearst Castle.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Boot cut jeans are often tight around my thighs, which is also not so cute, IMO. Also, I don't think Uggs are objectively terrible, just a stupid trend.

I witnessed one more snotty email at work, which I basically ignored, and am just letting it all go. Aaahhhh.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Dollhouse age would depend on how fragile the pieces are. Old enough that normal play for that age wouldn't break it. (They make dollhouse furniture specifically for kids playing, but most of the nicer stuff really can't stand up to too much play.)

(In high school, I was really into miniatures -- built a few dollhouses and a whole ton of furniture, read the miniatures magazines, designed a few things. Haven't really done much with that since starting college, since I haven't really had room for it. Definitely on my list of things to get back into when I have a home big enough to support hobbies.)

I was about a minute away from being the one sending the snotty email, but I am too just letting it go. Mostly.
