I have reached the point of tired where just typing up notes I have already made seems completely overwhelming. I need a nap.

WASILLA -- A 42-year-old Wasilla woman was arrested Thursday at her home by Alaska State Troopers with a search warrant in an undercover drug investigation. Sherry L. Johnston was charged with six felony counts of misconduct involving a controlled substance.
Johnston is the mother of Levi Johnston, the Wasilla 18-year-old who received international attention in September when Gov. Sarah Palin and her husband, Todd, announced their teenage daughter was pregnant and he was the father. Bristol Palin, 18, is due on Saturday, according to a recent interview with the governor's father, Chuck Heath.

This is the Real America, people - teenage pregnancies, coked-out moms, and snowmobile racing.
I'm not sure if English speaking Muslims use Allah or God in their prayers, but if they do use Allah (despite it's meaning)
I believe the prayers have to be in Arabic. Although I'm not sure, since there are so many southeast Asian Muslims who don't speak Arabic. And really, I know so little.

Heh. So true.
I think I'm going to make that bacon/cheese roll for New Year's brunch. My god! So delicious. Also, evidently the person whose site that is a friend of a friend.
Although it's been a big news topic, I just can't see the big deal with having Rick Warren give the invocation at the inaugural. I strongly disagree with his support of prop 8, but I just don't see selecting him to give the invocation as any sort of endorsement of all of Rev. Warren's agenda. Maybe it is my general lack of religiosity coloring my view of it.
I can't emphasize enough how gays in California feel not only hurt by Prop. 8, but also betrayed. When the State Supreme Court ruled gay marriage was legal, they felt included, accepted, admitted to the community. And now there's a huge amount of anger towards the Mormon church, and (especially in SF) the Catholic Bishop who formed that alliance. So for Obama to select Warren for his inauguration is a huge slap in the face. A big fat "fuck you." He may not see it that way, but that is how it's felt around here.
OMG! OMG! OMG! Cute penguins in Santa suits!

California and pretty much all the queer community, really.
Intellectually and politically, it makes sense. (And actually, I think it makes it more, rather than less, likely that we'll see efforts to get rid of DADT and DOMA in the coming year.)
Emotionally, it's something that makes me unhappy.
