Angel: I appreciate you guys looking out for Connor all summer. It's just—he's confused. He needs time. That's all. Fred: Right. Time, and some corporal punishment with a large heavy mallet. Not that I'm bitter.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I hope my TJs is similarly stocked and staffed.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Just left the dept holiday party, it still has an hour to go and I don't think anyone will be a problem, so that is good.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

That's gorgeous, lori!

Mom said they were expecting eight inches. She and a friend are going to go out shooting once it's not a whiteout. I hope to get some good pictures from her. Joshua Tree is gorgeous in the rain and snow.

I'm heading back out there tomorrow night through Monday. Will freeze our asses off, but it's supposed to be all clear. And boootiful!

Very much so. Enjoy! And stay warm. Man, it gets cold there.

I am missing the desert a lot right now. The stark beauty.

Maybe we might not head out tomorrow night. This just in, on another board: Joshua Tree National Park is now closed. I'm not kidding. No one will be allowed in until further notice. Hwy 247 is also closed. There's about 4-6" in town (JT), 9" in yucca Valley and it's still coming down. It is so pretty.

Just called mom. "Yeah, I heard Curtis [the NP superintendent] was going to close it."

She's got eight inches and she's off Park Blvd to the right where the water tower is.

Apparently? They can't find the road. So once it stops snowing and they can snow plow the roads, it'll reopen. Um, assuming they FIND the roads.

brillig

They can't find the road.

"Well, it was here yesterday. Between those two cactuses. Or maybe those two. Which way's north again?"
