Oh man, that sucks. I'm sorry they aren't going to cover it.
Which makes me wonder--do the insurance companies ever pay for most of what House does on his way to a cure?

Here's the rub: 1 ketamine treatment (and the assumption is that it only takes 1) costs about the same as 1 ER visit (which is happening twice a week).
Math isn't that hard.

Don't get me started on insurance companies and the way they price some treatments. Some only pay for one sugar testing strip a day for diabetics -- doctors want at least three tests per day or more, as it helps keep sugar levels from fluctuating, causing long term organ damage, leading to Bad and EXPENSIVE things like blindness, kidney failure, gangrene.

Heh. I just read an article about how insurance companies are trying to get their employees to go to Obama's grassroots "let's get national healthcare" things, and presumably lobby against it.
And I'm thinking "...dude. I just went through open enrollment on MY employer's healthcare plan. WHICH IS A HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANY. And if they sent me or any of the people who were in the web-cast? I think we'd all be advocating for nationalized health insurance"
