Huh. That's the first time I've seen the word "butterfat" outside of a dairy farm context.
(Cows produce milk with varying percentages of butterfat. The higher the butterfat content, the better, as farmers get paid more for high butterfat milk.)
Will Clocky come out of hiding in a few minutes after it starts ringing again, so that grumpy people don't pull out their pistols?
You may know I work for a youth-serving nonprofit organization. We asked the inventor of Clocky if she'd talk to a group of kids, and she asked for an honorarium. Dude, seriously? We had Dana Buchman last year for free.

I was about to post almost exactly this. I think of it as a culinary term, not a farming one. (It's really important to know butterfat percentages when you're dealing with recipes from other countries because heavy cream in the UK and heavy cream in the US mean *vastly* different things.)

Butterfat content is also used to determine Super Premium ice creams. Where in the classic American equation, more is more.
