When we landed here you said you needed a few days to get space worthy again and is there somethin' wrong with your bunk?

Loki is such a squeaky cat.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

podcasts, music, and knitting just keep winning out over books. I only watch like 3 tv shows.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

What's our Amazon thingy and how does it work? I'm about to do some Christmas Shopping.

meara - Dec 12, 2008 7:03:22 pm PST #5929 of 10002

I decided I was too warm and cozy to face the icky weather and go out dancing (even though I much wanted to be social and dancing). But I did finally get productive and order several Christmas presents that had been in my shopping cart, and, better yet, FIND several other Christmas presents that'll be PERFECT on Etsy and order those! One I'm not sure if it'll be perfect, sadly (I found something that'll be GREAT for two people, and the third person, the concept is great, but I couldn't find a specific piece that made me go "Oh, it's SO HER!" like I did for the other two people, sigh)

edit: Heh. Good plan, Trudy! I've still got more to go, though...no idea what to get my mom or sister. Or Seekrit Santa person. Must continue to think.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Trudy, use this [link] to enter Amazon, and we get a cut.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I need baking supplies. I need new cookie sheets and cake pans and a sifter and a rolling pin and mixing bowls and a mixer.

Someone send my list to Santa Tim?

I just brought home a ton of flour and butter, and fresh raspberries to make raspberry sauce. I'm up to my eyebrows in baking chocolate and chocolate chips. I forgot to get bananas to make a banana/butterscotch cake thingy. Is there anyway to make bananas turn mushy faster?

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Freezer will brown them and mushy them.

Do I love this dress enough. Nah. Prolly not. But I love everything about it down to the color (though I'd prefer red). I just don't need a fancy dress in the same way.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Thanks for the ~ma, everyone. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that something's going to get done.

I need new cookie sheets and cake pans and a sifter and a rolling pin and mixing bowls and a mixer.

Target's having a crazy sale on that stuff until tomorrow. I picked up two large Wilton professional weight cookie sheets for $10. It's normally $9.99 for one. I also saw a bundt cake pan (Wilton professional weight) for $5.

A brown paper bag will also turn banans brown faster.

ita, I'm sorry about the asshat doc at the ER. Does he expect you to live with the pain? Or does he just want someone else to deal with it?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I turned in my grades today. phew. I'd do a happy dance but I'm too tired.

KR I'm in awe of your cooking lately. I want to do some baking this weekend too, but I'm going for, um, sugar cookies or blondies or something easy.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Came home to a box from my college roommate. Enstrom's Almond Toffee - the single most delicious toffee ever made!

Damn, this stuff is addictive.
