I'm supposed to deliver you to the Master now. There's this whole deal where I get to be immortal. Are you cool with that?

I intended to make a lot of presents this year, and I have made nada!

I was just reading the NYT article about how cheap lobster is. New york doesn't know from cheap. : [link]

I was thinking about getting some for my folks before I went home next Saturday...but then I realized they'd be alive!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

We didn't have anything taken out of our bank account but it will take them two weeks to get us new debit cards. TWO WEEKS. That's AFTER Christmas. *headdesk*

Are they fucking kidding? That shit should come same-day.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

That's crazy --

I can go down to my bank and get one on the spot, now. But years ago it was still less than a week

Why yes, I do tend to misplace my bank card

Cashmere, that's crazy. My bank does temporary cards the same day.

Now tagless for your comfort.

We have a credit union--so that may be the problem. Still, a HUGE pain in the ass. DH can just get cash out and I can write checks locally, but online will be tricky without the card.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

potluck gubernatorial inauguration

That's kind of awesome. I'll have to find out if anyone I know is going.

Is you credit card the same as your debit?

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Cashmere, that's nuts. TWO WEEKS? How on earth do they justify that?

The status is NOT quo.

Cashmere, I use a small credit union too, and I had the exact same problem earlier this year. There are so many benefits to little credit unions, but dear gods is that not one of them.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Oh there are a ton of options! Is there a style of food they are looking for? Also are they walking or will they have a car?

I think they'll be driving down, so let's assume a car (and if not they can always take a cab). They're pretty open to any cuisine as long as there are meatless options.
