Dawn: I thought you were adequate. Giles: And the accolades keep pouring in. I'd best take my leave before my head swells any larger. Good night.

Our wings are not tired.

Tonight is hair cut/color in West Portal followed by shenanigans with Megan. Tomorrow is getting car fixed (new valve cover or something)in the AM while I study at coffee shop and the afternoon of putting up outside lights, wrapping presents and general housecleaning/decorating. Boyfriend is sick, so probably no viewing of "Milk" as I was hoping Saturday night in the Castro.

Sunday is football and lots of texting with Juliana about tight ends and such.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Tomorrow I'm teaching in the AM and then I'm having dinner with Polgara at the Grove as part of a class. I mean, the going to the Grove part. The dinner w/ Polgara is the icing on the cake.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Mmmmm, Donald Lee. Though I love me some wide receivers. And then there's the awesome defensemen.

javachik, I just might join you in Pacifica at one point. We Shall See about a) the weather and b) the status of my homework.

“Not dead yet!”

Tomorrow is writers group chapter holiday party

Yup. Mine too. Sorta don't want to go because I feel like a miserable loser who's cranky and doesn't want to be around people, but it's at Carrabba's and I'm going to have Shrimp Damien.

Tonight is big family dinner at one of Lewis' cousins. His uncle who's been battling leukemia for four years just found out that his most recent treatment didn't take and he and his doctors have decided that's it. So the prognosis right now is two weeks to four months. Have a crowd of thirty for dinner and I have to make a vegetable. I'm doing roasted asparagus with red peppers.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Damn, Barb. Sorry about your husband's cousin. Fuck leukemia.

Weekend:

  • Tonight: A comic book thingy at Meltdown
  • Saturday: Christmas errands and wrapping during the day and seeing A Christmas Story at Cinespace with friends.
  • Sunday: Hosting a family friends Christmas get together involving lunch.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I'm taking a half-day today, so I'll be outta here around 2:30 and heading home to clean my apartment and do laundry. Tomorrow is working at the bookstore from 10-4 and then doing some shopping there (employee appreciation week is until Sunday--we get an extra 10% off our regular discount, so 40% off of everything except DVDs/CDs, which are 30%). Then I head home and get ready to go out to a friend's Xmas party in the city.

I'll finally put up my tree on Sunday.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Awesome toy: Toy implosion kit

American Toy & Invention is selling a construction kit that's really a destruction kit. The goal at the end is to implode the building you make. And then repeat. Brilliance.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Lawyer-istas.

How does it work if, simply out of sick curiosity, one wanted to find out what one's boss had an arraignment and pretrial for?

What exactly, would an arraignment be used for?

NASA has gone rogue!

Does Obama Have a Problem at NASA?

Basically, NASA Administrator Michael Griffin has supposedly forbidden NASA employees from talking to the Obama transition team without getting clearance first.

Apparently Griffin is mad because Obama is considering scrapping the "back to the Moon" program....

Griffin denies this.

“Not dead yet!”

Hugh Jackman to host the Oscars.

Here's hoping for some naughty Aussie humor. Or at least that the gold lamé pants from The Boy From Oz make an appearance.
