"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Cephalopod Über Kopf

What a great album title.

I know I'm old because I only know Lil Wayne by reputation.

Did you read this amazing article by David Ramsay about Li'l Wayne and New Orleans?

The songs I saw (that you'd like) were "Turning Me On" by Keri Hilson (with him guesting) and "Mrs. Officer" by Li'l Wayne himself.

Art Crawl!!!

Man, I had to change a toner cartridge this morning and because I have the world's most ridiculous set up for a printer I have to move everything over so I can work the ginormous (HP Laserjet 4500) out from under the shelf of my workstation so I can pop the top to take out the cartridge. Well, when I moved it all over, I forgot how tight that cable that connects the computer to the printer is (it's run underneath the desk then up and across the back of the printer to it's slot) and I broke the damn connector. Now I have no useful printer.

So annoying.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I can't remember what the topic was, but I recently had a customer service experience where something was screwed up, obviously through no fault of the worker in front of me, and I was clear that I understood that, and the worker was pathetically grateful. I really wonder what is wrong with people sometimes.

Coding and Sleeping

Yeah, Gud, unless they're UAW workers.

Nobody is going to want to be guy who actually may cause huge potential job losses. The auto bailout is going to pass. I think there are a few with genuine opposition, but I think others are opposed for political posturing and to take a whack at Unions but know they can't risk losing that many jobs.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I was thinking it very hard, but I neglected to type how much I hope this procedure helps, ita.

Now tagless for your comfort.

java, could you substitute vegetable shortening for the lard?

Ugh. They've found the skeletal remains of a child near Casey Anthony's parents' home. I just want five minutes in a room with that mother. And a heavy phone book.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Kat, thanks, but sadly no. The cookies are little sesame tea cookies. My mother used to make them, and they were about the only baking she ever did that was edible. Anyway, I did a quick search and it seems that they're made with lard which means no more sesame cookies for me anyway. Boo on that!

Could you substitute shortening or a shortening/butter blend for the lard? That would be my first inclination.
